Medway Park's 12-court
A centre of excellence for disability sport
Medway Park has aspirations to be a centre of excellence for disability sport and regularly hosts top-level disability sports events.
Dedicated wheelchair team changing rooms
The centre has been designed to Sport England guidelines for disability sport and includes dedicated wheelchair team changing rooms.
Fully accessible and equipped for disability sport
The centre’s 12-court sports hall and track are fully accessible and equipped for disability sport. The new extensive fitness suite is also IFI (Inclusive Fitness Initiative) accredited.
Approved for London 2012
Medway Park was approved prior to London 2012 as a Paralympic training camp for athletics, boccia, goalball, judo, sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball, fencing and rugby.
The Paralympic Association of Barbados signed an agreement to prepare their athletes for the London 2012 Games at Medway.
Members of the GB Wheelchair Rugby squad also train at the centre.
